Helping young people find their voice.

Many young people have strong ideas but lack the confidence or structure to express them.

Through storytelling and public speaking workshops, students learn how to organise their thoughts, speak clearly and feel confident being heard.

What students learn

Students are introduced to the building blocks of storytelling and speaking.

Across a programme they learn how to:
  • Shape an idea into a story people want to hear
  • Organise their thoughts using compelling narrative structure
  • Use tools from acting to bring their voice and ideas to life
  • Speak with confidence and presence in front of others
  • Express their creativity through storytelling and performance

Sessions are interactive, supportive and designed to help students feel comfortable to speak up and be heard.

Students Speak

Many schools choose a programme where students develop and deliver their own short speech.

Across the programme students:

  • develop an idea they care about
  • learn and implement storytelling techniques
  • practice public speaking and presentation skills

The programme often ends with a final speaking showcase for parents or the school community.

Storytelling and speaking skills support learning across many subjects.

Schools often invite this programme to help students build confidence, develop oracy skills and communicate their ideas more clearly.

Teachers often notice quieter students begin to participate more, while confident speakers learn how to structure their ideas and express them effectively.

Workshops can be delivered in:

Primary schools

Secondary schools

Youth programmes

After-school clubs
